NEW INVENTIONS

BugE EV Kit

BugE EV Kit

The three-wheeled BugE can be purchased as a kit you put together yourself.

It's stable, has a range of 30 miles with a top speed of 50 mph. It's lucite canopy protects you from wind and rain.

Its four M34 led acid batteries take 8 hours to recharge via a 110V outlet.

Kompakt Carrier

Why drag a buggy behind you when the Kompakt carrier will carry up to three large groceries bags as you stroll along.

Each wheel has its own battery and charging indicator and will carry your goods at a walking speed for up to 7 miles.

The concept will include front-mounted laser and sonar sensors for collision detection, and the canopy protects your stuff from the elements.

Presumably, it will include a way to identify and follow its owner.

Exhausting Fuel

Exhausting Fuel

Starting as soon as 2011, GM is testing cars that can capture their own exhaust and convert the heat they harvest into electricity. Exhaust gases can reach temperatures of 1,300 degrees F.

The biggest challenge is to find a metal that conducts heat poorly so it is not transferred from one side of the chip to the other, as heat differential must be maintained to generate a current.
